I have been looking for info on this guy for awhile. Can anyone steer me in the right direction. I have been told possibly french, 1800s. Although I can not find any similar items. He is just 19.5 inches tall. Appears to be poured plaster. The plaster inside had a slight pink cast to it. His body appears to be cloth stuffed with straw maybe.. the finish is not glossy. More of a matte finish. His buttons are ruby red glass. They have a raised center and very slender petals radiating outward. His pants are brown suede or chamois.
Shirt is silk, overcoat not sure what you call it, but very fragile lose weave. Shimmery appearance. Has tiny hidden metal snaps holding overcoat on. His boots appear to also be plaster. They go just above knee under his pants leg and are attached there. Letters on neck appear to start with HAOS....AOS maybe.

He appears to be poured plaster and at first glance I thought he looked like a Italian Creche figure . Are his boots molded on ? How tall is he ? Are you in US ? Your location in the world may help ID him. Also you can take a pencil and rub across markings one neck it won't hurt him . That may help to read name there . Can you make out any of the letters on neck ? They are hard to see on PC .
