I have a doll that I'm researching, my Antique Doll Collectors Group has pointed me in the direction of her possibly belonging to the Unica Liberation doll collection, post-war 1946? She has no clothing by which to identify her (which country she could be representing), so this is based solely on her joyous smile (unusually sealed teeth), and molding of her bisque head and hand-painted features. The Unica dolls that I've seen on CW do seem similar, she is possibly more demure in style! She has twilled cloth arms (sewing to identify her fingers) and her legs are also twilled cloth. her torso is straw-filled, arms and legs cloth filled. If anyone can share any information as to where information may be available as to the entire Unica Liberation collection, or any information as to her origins I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in Advance.

I would agree a Unica Composition Cloth 1945-46 War Liberation Belgium doll. I believe she has had work done to body so body may not be all original . Very HTF doll.

Hello, and thanks very much for your reply to my post. I've checked her over, and don't believe she had any work to her at all. She's in lovely condition and original. She must have had clothing at one time, still searching for more info for her, the search goes on. (sorry not sure what HTF means).

It is a UNIQUE doll, made in Coutrai-Belgium, between the years 1944-1945. surely to remember the soldiers in the 2nd World War. The head is made of pumice stone and the body is made of cloth filled with straw. These used to have a label with the brand on their clothes, there were soldier dresses and typical Alsacian costume. So the body is correct.
