Wondered if anyone had any information on the above photo? I found the vintage etching in an antique frame that I took apart.

It is not an etching-- it is a photograph.

These are enlargements and lost details in the enlarging process were highlighted.

Those made in with dark highlights are often called charcoals and those with color details are often called pastel prints.

Most typical size for these is 16 X 20.

Actually when you touch the picture a substance rubs off on your fingers like a dark chalky or charcoal type substance. Didn’t want to ruin it by rubbing too much though

At First Glance..Thomas A. Edison, In His Older Years. There Are Photos Of Him Online That Are Familiar To This One..Not sure who it is though.

      Thomas.

"Actually when you touch the picture a substance rubs off on your fingers like a dark chalky or charcoal type substance."

Hence the name "charcoal"-- underneath there is a photograph. Details were lost in the enlargement and enhanced.

By the way it isn't Edison.
