Long time no see guys. We'll I guess the antique police won't lock me up for staying away so long,l believe that we all have a lot on our minds lately..we'll bought the serving dish and actually it has a top that could be used as another dish if the top piece is removed. It's 830 silver but has no makers mark. It has a serial number. Is it possible to track down a serial number on holloware. Any help on the maker would be nice..it could use a good polish but no dents and dinngs.
The top is wobbly and the marks are faint. I will post a picture here and put a few more withit,,thank

830 is normally associated with Norwegian silver.

But note that at the end of the 830 mark in your photo you have the German nation silver mark (reichsmark) ... the Halbmond und Krone.

That means that the serving dishes are German rather than Norwegian - The mark on the left is actually known to be that of the firm M. H. Wilkens & Soehne.
The firm was founded in 1810 in Bremen-Hemelingen and continues today I think.
