Federal period, mahogany tilt-top candle stand with unusual legs.

Found in Maryland. Lots of signs of repair and damage. An old piece. I've never seen one of these with legs like this. You can see how the legs are attached to the pedestal with these rough dovetails. An image of the little bun foot shows you how much wear these legs have. Are they original to the piece, or are they later additions (maybe original legs broke)?
