I’m sharing this here for collectors and vintage garage enthusiasts.
This is a large JOHN BEAN service cabinet that originally came from a Pontiac dealership service department. It has been part of our family shop history for decades. We’ve had it in our body shop for over 20 years, and before that it belonged to my husband John’s father and was in his shop another 15–20 years.
The cabinet features the original illuminated department panels that read:
SERVICE?STEERING
These were used in dealership service bays to identify work stations such as steering and alignment service areas.
Approximate dimensions?• 130½ inches long (almost 11 ft)?• 15½ inches deep?• 5 ft tall
Solid steel construction. The original wiring is still behind the light panels. Years ago we began stripping it because my husband planned to repaint it with enamel but never finished the project.
All doors are present and I still have the original hardware and handles that came off the cabinet.
Because of the size this would make an incredible centerpiece for:?• a vintage service station display?• petroliana collectors?• a classic car garage?• restoration shop or man cave
Located in [your city/state].?Local pickup due to size.
This is something I never planned to sell, but I need to raise money to help pay off my mortgage.
