Pick Axe Lamp

This is a very neat, vintage, homemade pick axe lamp. It's clearly home made - if you look at the brass fixture attached to the axe, they don't match. The wooden axe handle is attached to a marble base, and a brass aperture that extends about 15" above the wooden handle. It is quite heavy, and my wife contends that it is in fact dangerous because we have small children... Oh well, I will keep them away from it because I want to keep it in the house. Not certain how old, but it is extremely unique.
