Metal Beads.......Seams to be brass but I’m not sure

Dose anyone no if this is old or not i dont no anything about this I was lookig at this in a thrift store and some lady asked me if i was getting it I said yes and i did it is a little hevy
I have one very similar to this piece and can find nothing on it.
