I would like to know more about this stein, if anybody out there knows. The inscription engraved on the stein reads as follow:

    Gh Meyer Ober Meister
    H Gl Gunther Ober Meister
Mulsen S: Niclas und S: Jacob
    den 18: Majus Anno. 1802

This is inscribed around the crest or coat of arms as shown. I know the bottom line translates to "the 18th of May, in the year of 1802". And I know that Saint Niclas and Saint Jacob are parishes in the region of Mulsen, Germany. What I don't know is for what event the stein is commemorating, and the meaning of the Coat of Arms. It is all pewter. There are 3 stamp marks inside the lid, as shown. Stein is 8" tall to the top of the lid. The lid diameter is 4". Any help would be appreciated.

Mulsen has a website and perhaps a town historian would be able and willing to help. I can't even keep Bergmeisters and Obermeisters sorted out anymore............must be getting a bit old here.
