This is another of Koskinen's striking designs. Like most of them it has a simple shape, in this case seen from upwards it has the shape of one of the alleles of a chromosome... these biological shapes are not uncommon in Koskinen's work.
At somepoint, it also reminds of Aalto's Savoy vase.
This series came in blue, white and clear glass...
Like the blue the best!

LOL! Well, the other ones couldn't offer the game of shades and transparencies the blueonedoes... i usually tend to choose coloured glas over clear if possible (plus they're easier to take pictures of!)
