Found these as part of a lot I purchased. I am having difficulty figuring out what these are. I tried searching button covers, military uniforms. I did not get anywhere.

US Cavalry Horse rosettes. Went on the bridle. These are probably late 1880s or so. Hence the prongs, they would pierce the leather to stay in place....
