Original “porthole view” water color painting by WWII Navy artist Robert H. Simms.

The painting depicts an actual Patrol Torpedo (PT) boat passing the ship on which Robert Simms was assigned in the South Pacific during WWII. This PT boat was configured with a zebra striped wartime camouflage paint scheme. The PT boat squadrons were nicknamed "The Mosquito Fleet."

I purchased this water color painting from Mr. Simms' grandson who has posted other Robert Simms water color paintings on this forum.

Quite the camouflage for a PT boat, My dad was assigned to a PT boat when he was stationed in Australia.
