I have heard that paperweights can be quite expensive. Does anyone know if this is and how do you tell? I love it. Very pretty

Some paperweights can be in the thousands. Your paperweight looks to be contemporary perhaps Japan or China? This is just a guess but the quality of the butterfly's & the air bubbles within the glass would not be found in a weight by any of the master makers like Baccarat, St Louis or Clichy. If you Google any of the names I just mentioned you will be able to see examples of fine art glass, the details of canes etc. Hope this helps.
