Picked this up in the 60's on a trip thru the west. Wife is responsible for the red paint. We used it upside down as a magazine rack. Cross buck pack saddles were used to haul gear on donkeys and mules on trips thru rough mountaines terrain. Mules and donkeys are very durable and sure footed. A little padding and strap it on, reddy to go.Leather straps are long gone. These are hard to find in good condition. Thanks and enjoy.
