Need some help identifying this silver piece. Obviously .900. Makers mark unknown. Purchased in Greece near Athens. Looks cyrillic - Russian but I have NO reference for Greek pieces. Anyone know a greek listing for makers marks and dates?

Thanks in Advance !

Thank you ! This thing is huge too.. its 900 grams. I've never cleaned a silver piece.. What do people prefer?

Personally I prefer them cleaned. But some people who onsell don't clean them because for some this can get them higher price - although I've never understood that because I think all shined up they are splendid. I mean the Queen wouldn't have dirty silver would she!! If it was mine and I was keeping it I would shine it up!

Flowerrose, I have finally purchase cleaning materials and the proper cleaners with great help from silversmith Jeffery Herman who does absolutely magnificent work. I will start with a few just above scrap value pieces and work upwards to gain experience. I am still in need of help with the makers mark and dating. Help anyone ?
    Thanks in advance,

flowerrose, I am currently in process (5 hours so far) in cleaning this :). As you can see.. it was awful. Some would have said to leave patina but with black.. you cant remove black without shining the surrounding area. I don't like black. So, she's going all clean :). Will post an update when its completed. Steve !

Okay.. clearly show before and after pictures. I couldn't and won't be able to identify this makers mark. So, I know it was dark and ill regularly patina'd. So, with great effort, off came the patina and what a beautiful clean(mostly except for the girl has shades to show her age) silver it is ! Steve
