Like I've said before, I know NOTHING about art pottery. I just don't have an eye for it and don't really care much for it. (no offense to those that do, btw) For the sake of some fun, I thought I'd put this up and see if anyone knows anything about it.. other than what I think it is.. which is in the title. It's 8 inches tall, the ruffled or scalloped mouth is 5 inches wide. There are marks on the bottom, but I won't venture a guess as to what they may be. I know it's at least 30-40 years old, possibly older.

Welll, thank you Bellin! I honestly started to throw it out when we were going through old china and pottery at my old homeplace about 10 years ago. As I said, I do NOT have an eye for this type of work. It's a shame too.. 'cause before I knew better I gave away several signed Van Briggle pieces. So, before I toss anything else that I don't particularly care for and know nothing about, I figured I'd better get a more knowledgeable opinion or two. As I said, I know NOTHING about art pottery unless it's clearly marked and I can find a book or article online about it! So ANY information is a great help to me.

that "critter" kinda looks like "the cowardly lion" from the yellow brick road.

mikie, you're right! *LOL* Maybe it's an early Munchkin piece, highly sought after and quite valuable. If it is, I'll cut you in on a percentage. ;-)

Thanks for the love, miKKo! I just wish I could find out if it's trash and safe to toss out or if I need to keep it.. in a dark closet.. where I never have to look at it, until I can leave it to my daughter. *LOL*

"Another man's trash is another man's treasure" LOL... I would put this pottery in my treasure pile. :)
