My mother has had this for a long time, another mystery! Its got these little faces on the base, which is what makes me think its not some high school ceramics class job. Has a turn-of-the-century look to it, very interesting glaze when you see it in person. Does this style look familiar to anyone?
Love the crystaline glaze . Several factories where experimenting with this circa 1900 . Royal Copenhagen and Thulin in Belgium amougst them . see my piece

Unfortunately in the 1990's there was arevival with lots of studio potters rediscovering this glaze .
Your piece looks great I'd be proud to own it. will try digging up some info if I can.
So you think its contemporary? You're probably right, its not dirty enough, and the bottom isn't very worn.
