As soon as my fourth-grade teacher wife saw this, she said "I WANT IT", and of course, I told her no!!
Another estate sale find today, I can only imagine the restless child doodling on this desk, praying for the end of the day to come so it could go outside and play! It's pretty cool, still has some carvings on top and ink stains from the ink well. I know this has some age because I'm older than dirt, and I never had a desk like this when I was a kid....

Nice desk-- it dates from 1888- early 20th century!

      Glad to help.

Google patent search is a great research tool.
