saw this on a video for an estate sale here in vegas and we were just wondering why these people were all standing there having their picture taken anyone know anything....

Surely a panoramic photo of twenty nine women (flappers all) in a line surrounded by crowd in front of a dance hall is a bit unusual? I think the sign just says "Dancing".
Is it in Vegas?
Is it by E. O. Goldbeck?
"Goldbeck used a Cirkut camera that revolved on a tripod while the film advanced at the same speed. He created images as large as 10 by 60 inches. I just had another look at the bottom right hand corner for the signature. Not the clearest photo but I'd say it looks something like the E.O. Goldbeck S.A. (San Antonio) Texas mark I've seen on others.
the cards the women have are probably their dance cards.

I've been looking for this photo for a few years. I first saw it in a women's restroom in a restaurant, the wait staff said the owner purchased it at homegoods, but I have had no success in finding it. I think these ladies were going into the dance hall in the background for a good time. Unfortunately, someone stole it from the restroom which is a sad commentary in itself. pattiray, is photo shown, the only one you have of this picture? Do you have one straight on? Hope to hear from you.

I love this print! Found mine at a garage sale (previously purchased from Marshalls). A swimsuit version from this same era had just sold at the sale. I'd love to find this print!
I found a copy of this photo, mounted on wood, put out to be thrown away in the garbage along with many other things apparently belonging to someone who had died. My copy has a Marshall's label on the back. It's a photo that rewards study. I just noticed that the girl at the far left is holding a pennant that appears to say BEST MAID. Did she win a dance competition?
MYSTERY SOLVED. My wife discovered <a href="https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/panoramic-photo-wood-38-x-1900s-dance-1978030192">this information</a> on the photo after I had tried and failed to do so because I was reading the name at the far lower right as "Wenver" instead of Weaver.
Well done CLIF910 ..... any idea of what uniform those guys are wearing ????
I think those are three L.A. police uniforms or am I wrong ???

I actually recently obtained this photo on wood from my friend of mine who had bought it in a flea market I had admired it so many times she gave it to me. I have studied the picture with magnifying glass it definitely says 1853-1 Weaver LA in the bottom corner and the sign or pendant shown on the opposite side does say made I can't tell what the first word is though. The photo is by Miles Weaver who is known for his panoramic photos. There was one available on eBay according to worth point but it's not there anymore. I'm so very very happy to have this I love it I love it I love it
