I just picked this up, good timing. I was introduced to this concept about 2 ½ years ago and thought it was interesting and definitely worth adapting to. I love that it originates from a culture that is very passionate and expressional - a belief in energy and intentions, and apparently less belief in actions and words. A little history:

Disks or balls, consisting of concentric blue and white circles (usually, from inside to outside, dark blue, light blue, white, dark blue) representing an evil eye are common apotropaic talismans in the Middle East, found on the prows of Mediterranean boats and elsewhere; in some forms of the folklore, the staring eyes are supposed to bend the malicious gaze back to the sorcerer.
In some forms, it is the belief that some people can bestow a curse on victims by the malevolent gaze of their magical eye. The most common form, however, attributes the cause to envy, with the envious person casting the evil eye doing so unintentionally.
In many beliefs, a person—otherwise not malefic in any way—can harm adults, children, livestock or possessions, simply by looking at them with envy. The word "evil" is somewhat misleading in this context, because it suggests an intentional "curse" on the victim.

Very interesting…I believe in this energy, but I also believe that self-love, good morals, treating people with absolute kindness and compassion is a stronger energy overall. And If someone is effected by another’s malefic thoughts or intentions, then they still have lessons to learn….That’s my story and I’m sticking to it…I really should start a blog…
