Shown is a book titled "Pictorial Forest Lawn" from Forest Lawn cemetery in California in 1944. This book was sold to visitors at the gift shop. The inside contains numerous pictures of the art and architecture at the cemetery along with detailed descriptions.
Very beautiful image on cover by William Adolphe Bouguereau. Bouguereau's works were considered maudlin by many in my college days. I think that he enjoys greater respect today, and I think that his work has always been comforting to those who mourn.
