I don't usually buy newer art glass, however, Rick Strini makes a beautiful JIP and it was a great anniversary present for the wife and our JIP collection. Unfortunately, I did have to pay top dollar for the piece, but still it goes great with the collection.

I have loved Rick's work for years now, and this is a wonderful JIP vase. His work is always so clean and polished, like a true master. It is so difficult to make a flower-shape like that and make it look organic and not random, and keep the edges smooth and natural. Then you add the folds and the finish; that must take lots of skill. The problem is that now it costs so much to make this type of glass it becomes more expensive then the market will support. Hopefully masters like Strini and Chihuly etc. won't become relics of the past.
