I unearthed this small compact that inside was still shiny gold plate but the outside was totally green. The whole box was initialy green from corosion. After some brief dusting off I noticed the engraving on the lid. After a bit more cleaning I managed to free the hinge and it popped open.
Inside was an old mirror that had seen better days.
