ok.I have found the 8 49 being the month of August 1949.But still no pattern name?

The word York is probably the pattern name. If it has Wedgwood & Co on the back, it is the company of Enoch Wedgwood of Tunstall, not the Josiah Wedgwood famous for their Jasperware. Try china finders

I just looked and they don't have anything. the potteries.org is a British website with lots of information. You can actually contact the gentleman who maintains it for FREE. He may be able to help, if not he will recommend another resource, but you should also send a photo of the front and back. Good Luck!
