ww1 machete marked with Flaming Bomb & letters S.A. and date- 1914.Dug in Bexar County, Tx. Heavy rust was removed . Blade is sharpened on one side only. weight 29 ounces length 17". Wood handle is mostly decayed/missing.
After being sharpened it was not very useable. Very thick blade worked best at chopping wood or splitting wood.. Not very useful unless I grind the blade thinner and re-sharp edge.

This is some kind of "BOLO". I wouldn't do anything more to it until you consult a knife collector with knowledge. After all, it is 99 yrs old & not a common design to my knowledge.
