    This is the only postcard I've ever owned of German soldiers manning a machine gun in full battle gear with gas masks. Makes you wonder if the idea for the Star Wars Darth Vader didn't come from this iconic image of the Hun.

      I believe it is the original water-cooled MG 08 infantry version.
