Are you sure that's plastic, it looks like Mother of Pearl.
I believe this is the Infant Jesus of Prague. I used to see them a lot growing up in Catholic communities. http://www.pragjesu.info/en/history_infant_jesus.htm
If you're going with the Colorado connection, I'm originally from CO and I remember Van Briggle Pottery. They were big.
Thank you all for your comments. I'll research the spanish aspect and see what I come up with. The glasses seem like they are double glass and are heavier in weight than they appear.
