This is a (1) Peso bank note issued in 1943 by the Japanese Government for use in the Occupied Territory of the Philippines. - Japanese invasion money, officially known as Southern Development Bank Notes, was currency issued by the Japanese Military Authority, as a replacement for local currency after the conquest of colonies and other states in WW II. This follow-up issue in 1943 consisted of denominations of 1, 5, 10, 100, 500, and 1000 Pesos. The purple ink oval stamp on the obverse shows it was received by the bearer for redemption after the war. - JAPANESE INVASION CURRENCY
