Appear to me to be a cufflink. Found it in our yard using a metal detector and just curious what it is. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

C&NW passenger train crew uniform button, conductor...porter..... diner car crew. I worked for C&NW for 20 years (Until 1998)... this button is way before my time. Thanks for the stir in memory
