Hi there! Just found this Herman Miller bench for $40 at a thrift store. Im not familiar with this company or piece though i like it because it reminds me of chairs at the airport when i was young! Haha! I would be very appreciative of any info someone could give me on this piece. Also does anyone know where i could find a replacement "boot" for one of the legs?
Im a new visitor to this website and love it......
Thanks again!

I think you "hit home run" there. I too came by some fiberglass Herman Miller "Shell" arm chairs at the local thrift store recently. Since then I have learned these chairs have become quite popular and seem to be selling in a range of $200 to $600 a chair. Several different type of bases can be ordered even a rocking chair base. they were designed by Ray & Charles Eames in the late 40s I think. This style chair is being manufactured today but the modern reproductions are all plastic instead of fiberglass. there are several on eBay and you can learn alot by reading the item descriptions or just Google 'Eames shell chair'.
