I was clearing out an old house recently and I found this strange axe head made of aluminum with NIWA cast into it. The letters resemble twigs. A google acronym search turned up several different acronyms ,but the only one that could be remotely related would be, North Island Woodlot Association , in Vancouver . A google image search turned up nothing. This item clearly not meant to be used. It is about 7" long and has no makers marks on it, any thoughts?

Ceremonial Axe, used in parades and such. I have two chapters of M.W.A. in my local area. I had no idea of this group until I saw this post, and Googled it. Now I need to find out more about them! Thanks for sharing it!
