Hello. I would welcome any thoughts on the origin and age of this gilt lacquer wooden buddha that I have. It stands about 1m tall and is made of pieces of hollowed out wood covered in gesso (or something) and cloth (hemp?) - with gilt laquer over the top. I think it's possible of Japanese origin due to the facial features. Thanks in advance for any ideas that you might have.
