Claret jug is Britannia metal? Was it silver plated? should it be polished to a shinier finish? Purchased in Belgium without the liner. Liner should be green or clear with engraving. Thin glass

The top part looks exactly like mine, but I do not have the bottom. In examining the bottom of the handle there is no evidence of it having broken off from another piece and no holes for a screw or bolt Do you know a lot about WMF?
