Here's another item rescued from a dumpster. Boraxo Powdered Soap Dispenser, discarded by my neighbor while cleaning out house from a previous owner. "Boraxo is composed largely of borax, and is marketed to those who get their hands especially dirty during work, such as mechanics and farmers." Wiki
Not sure about the period of this particular model...by the way it looks, i'm figuring 1950s?
