I bought this vase in an upscale vintage store. This is out of character for me, but the color of the vase was just too striking to resist. The seller told me who made it but somehow it didn't register. Does anyone recognize or can read the signature? I believe the line in the middle is numbers "66327". the rest of it is impossible to make out.
Any tips and ideas are much appreciated.

Here you go. The signature is a little darker on this one:

Raymor? Rosenthal Netter? Both companies imported pottery from Italy and most were simply signed 'Italy' along with a sequence of numbers.

Swfinluv1...how do you do this?!!! There are thousands of red Italian vases on the internet...Thank you!!!!
It was a great lead! Your link says it's "R" in a circle but my vase has it looking more like PV, so i tried it, too. It led to ancientpoint website with another vase just like this- but i can't find it today =( The maker's name wasn't mentioned but the site said that, apparently, PV is for Pleasant Valley company that imported the vase (which is very strange). My further search led me to Raymor Bitossi pottery some of which (red ones) look very similar to this vase's style and texture, and the way "Italy" is signed looks very much like mine. Is this the Raymond you referred to above?
I don't know if that's it for sure. Here are a couple of links...what do you think?:

To be fair, I used the number listed on the bottom along with "signed red vase" to get the link to come up. Because, yes, there are soooo many red vases on the internet. : )

I think your 1stdibs link above is the closest one, decor-wise (I've added the eBay link for the same item below so you can see more pics) and I agree that the initials are probably PV on all the examples. Since the P and V appeared to run together on the Worthpoint example, I think the seller just assumed it was an R with a 'flourish' at the end. Once you see multiple listings, it's a little easier to tell.

I mentioned Raymor and Rosenthal Netter because they were the two most common importers I could think of that started with an R (info from the original link) and because their pieces usually had the word Italy written the same way as the links (with the crossbar for the T extending over the I). I thought if either one of those was the name that was mentioned to you originally, you'd probably remember.

A few more links (the search terms I used were "P.V peasant pottery red". Unfortunately I can't tell you if any of the info is accurate. : (
