I am privileged to add what is now my oldest paper: a March of 1807 monthly magazine that had been bound in a volume for a library, but in the 1980s (I talked to its last owner) taken apart from to be put on microfilm and then sold. I got it for $6.
It's so old that most words now ending with an "ic" end in this with an "ick" (Publick, Atlantick, etc.)
This Boston-published magazine was around from late 1805 to late 1814, and my piece is about 210 years old.
There is poetry, essays, theatre releases, morals, memoirs, letters, etc in it; and it has one illustration.
The fact that it talks about bear-hunting in Finland makes it interesting. They gonna kill me. :(
