Found this in a thrift shop with the wife Saturday. I know a little about the old Nippon stuff. I did try to date it, but this particular makers mark seems to be undated. Was a nice piece for the $15 it cost. The wife is deciding if she wants to keep it. Just thought I'd share it with you wonderful people, hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Wonderful find! Perhaps gotheborg.com could date it for you. My guess is 1900-1910 but I am not an expert.

What a find for $15! We do know if a backstamp (of whatever type), includes the word "Nippon" (not Japan); it is dated between 1891-1921.
