    This is the first covered dish I have seen modeled in this way. Looks oriental, but that's just a guess. The raised edge in the middle is for - ??? No marks anywhere. An Image search brought me zero, and since I don't know the name for this bowl, so I can't look it up.
    Age? Not a clue.

    I hope somebody knows what this is...

      vet - lol, that's as good a guess as any! I have no clue what this is supposed to be used for. Can't really put a candle in it...I wonder if it's missing a piece in the middle, but what? And why? Haha!

      Looking at this post side by side with your little cup and saucer -- the "blues" look to me like they match; whatever you find on the cup and saucer, may provide you with answers to this nice little covered dish. Either way, they're both wonderful!
