All I know of this hat is that it was part of my dad's collections. My brothers wore it out playing soldier in it back in the 1950s and 1960s. If anyone wishes to share more info, I'd be happy to learn. thanks, Mary

It's an Deutsch Afrika Korp (DAK) pith helmet from Rommel's days. It used to be a real collector's item "before kids". Badges are worth something still.

Proof that kids can be more destructive than war . LOL !! If in good condition, it would bring about $200.

For sure, blunderbuss2. My brothers and their buds held regular battle reenactments in our back yard using dad's souvenirs I'm not even sure if he was aware until the damage was done. I guess those kids had $200 worth of fun! ;)
