    I never get out to the movies anymore, but at one time, most films released in Japan came with programs. You can find them these days at used book shops like Book Off, which also sells used CDs, DVDs, etc. Book Off has become a haven for people scouring for collectibles to sell on Ebay and its Japanese equivalent, Yahoo Auctions. Most of the film programs are junk, but I couldn't pass up this one for The Last Waltz for only 100 yen (about 85 cents with the exchange rate these days). The original price was 250 yen and its dated to Japanese year Showa 53, which is 1978, the year the film came out in the U.S.

    As Levon Helm has said, this film has too many guest artists and not enough of The Band just being The Band. But I can still watch this one over and over.

      You got it Jim!

      Levon's later works are unbelievable-- "Ramble at the Ryman" (esp. Anna Lee), "Electric Dirt", "Dirt Farmer", ...

      I pulled into Nazareth, I was feelin' about half past dead;
      I just need some place where I can lay my head.
      "Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?"
      He just grinned and shook my hand, and "No!", was all he said.
      Gotta LOVE this!!
