This has been in my family for over 100 years. I am trying to get as much information on the history and style of this chair. I'm not sure if the title is correct for a description. I have tried to research this type of chair and this is the only information I have found. It has been stripped and I plan on having it restored by an antique preservationist. The first picture was what it looked like 45+ years ago. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Interesting chair. It doesn't appear to be a 200 year old chair.

Style and construction would make me think it is from the early 20th century.

Thank you for your feedback Scott! I figured it wasn't that old but my Dad thought differently. So it would be early 1900's correct?

Yes-- from what I see, I would think early 1900s.

The style is American Empire and was mfg into the early 1900's.
