BTCo Painted Raspberry floral decorative plate with beautiful soft colors and edge details. My grandmother always had this hanging on the wall. I would love to know the possible time period of manufacturing. This is an item I'm curious about the likelihood that it was brought to the US with my great grandmother's Bavarian dishes which I do know were.

Unlikely, as it says Germany, not Deutschland (Germany is the English word for the country).

So, technically it was brought to the U.S., as a German export for the open American market. But, it did not come over with your great grandmother. It was intended only for export.

@Spiritbear Thank you! I broke another plate that said Bavaria, so I was clumsy with the wrong one. This is helpful to know as I sort through all her items. I'm wondering if is the early 1900's or later. I'm still trying to understand the difference between painted and printed as well. This plate looks like the design is stamped. If meant for export, I understand it much better.

@Spiritbear but I have to admit I'm embarrassed to have even asked that question though. Pretty rookie mistake on my part! LOL

I see what look like little dots making up the image. They're often blurred. Applique. Kind of like T-shirt graphics. Most items like this that are sold as "hand painted" are really just hand-applied details that took all of a matter of seconds to apply. LOL.
Likely early 1900s. After 1891 as they don't usually mark country of origin before then.

it is a burley and tyrell dating between 1871 and 1907. largest porcelain importer based in chicago and this plate probably was imported from dresden
