    Edward Schroder & Co.
8th street, between Washington & Carr
    St. Louis, Missouri

Edward bottled soda in St. louis for only one year, that being 1864.

Poor guy, I assume the personnel at the city directory could not get the spelling of his name correct. The spelling on the bottle is Schroder & Co. As you can see in pic 2, he was listed as Schraeder, Schroeder, & Scroder. So I am not sure which one is correct, hopefully the bottle. I believe I may have left town too, after all this. LOL

Quite common, actually, that names were spelled incorrectly. We believe someone was reading a list to whomever was forming the directories, and quite often neither bothered to verify spelling. I see it in a lot of directories.
It's possible he became ill, afraid, in debt, or wasn't doing good business.

Scroder is the worst of them. Nice bottle!
