    Is this real 1815 coin I found this coin in a old shoe box at my granddad’s house . Any input is welcome to let me know if it’s real or not

      No 1815 large cent pennies were minted, here's some info on that:

      This talks about an altered 1845 penny, that yours might be. I hope this helps! :^)

      I’ve seen Those pictures before but this coin has a different design the stairs are different

      Here's another link that shows 2 different years of coins that were altered to look like a 1815 coin, one minted before 1815, and the other after 1815, 1816 was the year the coin was changed, from look of the older coins, hence the difference between the head, and stars on your coin, There were no 1815 dated coins minted due to the shortage of copper, because of the War of 1812!
