Hi, I recently came across this beautiful clock case with amazing in May and Ansonia Clock and Movement the Spade style and pendulum are missing I would love to know more about this clock like what style it is it’s age and type of wood Please leave us a comment below if you have any knowledge about this clock case/movement thanks.
Hi Tangoes,
You have a class of clock often referred to as an Anglo-American Wall Clock. They are characterized by beautiful, very ornately decorated wood cases and American movements. In your case, an Ansonia movement with a Count Wheel Strike System, Recoil Escapement and Taper pin retained posts. My guess is that your clock is from the Mid to late 1800's but I'm not sure. How often does it need to be rewound? It looks like it may be a 30-hour movement. As far as the types of wood, I could hazard a guess. Take your pick, there are so many! :) Primarily Walnut (maybe?) An absolutely beautiful clock. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Wow, what an amazing find! The wood of the case appears to be in good condition and would be even more breathtaking with a little more work.
You shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a pendulum replacement.
