This rice bowl is 4.5" in diameter x 2.25" high and has no kiln mark. It is very thin, translucent porcelain and looks new. It was, however, very yellow and I thought that was the color of the glaze until I washed it and it turned out to be white. The staining may have been from tobacco smoke, which suggests it sat on a shelf and was not used much. The porcelain is very strong, but so thin that if it had been used much it would probably have some chips, cracks or scratches and it does not. I think it cost fifty or seventy five cents. I paid $5 for five Corelle soup bowls, a Fenton glass cat and this, so it could not have cost much. The cat was $1.
I think this was meant to be used as a rice bowl, though it seems on the small side. No idea what kiln made it or when.

Thanks for your comments, Eileen. Ugh! Tobacco film..... I usually try to use things like this at least once to get a feel for the experience. I have not had the opportunity to use this bowl, yet, though.
Thanks vcal and ho2cultcha!
