This pitcher vase by Williamsburg Glass Company is 11" tall and the base is 3" in diameter. It has a label that reads "Williamsburg Glass CO. Handblown Glass, Williamsburg VA". It is a bit wonky and has one of the worst pontils I have ever seen. It was snapped, leaving a rough, razor sharp remainder. The glass is a deep purplish blue which is washed out by the lighting I used.
I could find out very little about this company. Apparently, it was once also located in Lightfoot, VA. Much of what they made were reproductions of Colonial Virginia utilitarian glassware. Based on the CV of a glass artist who worked there while completing his BFA, WGC was still active in the mid 1990s. I find mentions of a WGC going back to the 1890s but not sure if that is that the same company. This is the only piece made by this company that I have ever seen in the wild.

Could you sand the bottom to help get rid of that sharpness, or use a glass grinder?

Thanks for your suggestions, PhilDMorris! I think it is better left alone since, along with the label, it is a good record of what a Williamsburg pontil looks like. Apologies to the future owners who cut themselves, though...

I have this same piece. I purchased it 25 years ago in an antiques shop. However, the one I have is a brown color -- reminds me of a root beer float as it is lighter on the top than the bottom. And yes, mine also has the worst pontil ever. I to have been unable to find anything out about the company.
Thanks for your comments, Joe01669! I added a little bit more that I have been able to find out about this company to the description. Odd since it appears to have been around for quite a few decades. I will take another spin through my art glass reference library, as well.
