1943 War Ration Book No. 3
This is a WWII War Ration Book no. 3 issued in 1943. This booklet has 4 pages of Ration stamps. Each page of stamps are numbered and have images of tanks, ships, artillery and airplanes. Only a few of the stamps were used from the booklet. Unfortunately the front was filled out in pencil, so you can no longer read the information.

"Distributed May 20, 1943 the coupons were used for food and other commodities. War ration book no. 3, valid September 1943, included 8 pages of stamps, four for meat rationing, and four for a clothing rationing program never put into effect. Some clothing stamps were eventually validated for shoe rationing."

That's really interesting Dave. I knew there were war ration stamps, but I'd never seen any until now or knew how they were used. Great Post!!!
My parents and grand parents had to use them. I still have some of them.
CollectorPaul..War .is.. you know. My mom was Japanese and a child in Japan..just outside the Tokyo area when the bombs dropped..wasn't her fault, she was just a child. Terrible stories on both sides..
