Im not sure what this is or used for , My mom 98 years old can not remember either. Please help to solve
Update on this mystery of what this is and help from this group , I added a picture of the Item found.
I believe it was used to patch tubes for car tires. A piece is missing from the end of the screw shaft. A vintage vulcanizer

Although, I see that you had a vintage advertisement that describes what it is. Perhaps it was still confusing, because the ad doesn't show anybody using it?
