Hello everyone!!
Here’s a doorstop that I recently acquired. It’s an antique cast iron doorstop titled “ The Dutch Boy”. I’m not sure which foundry cast him, but I’m thinking Albany or National Foundry could have been the maker. He is a two piece design and assembled with a single bolt. As you can see, he's experienced some paint loss, as well as a bit of spackle, over the past 100 years, but still in fine condition for it's age. It’s from the very early 1900’s and measures 11” tall and 3 1/2” wide.

Thanks very much!! I cleaned a lot of surface rust from him, gave him a thorough cleaning and a coat of transparent wax to protect his finish.

A really nice example of the Dutch Boy full figure doorstop. As found in Smith’s Doorstop book on page 216. 11? by 3 1/2?. Weighs just under 7 pounds. In very good condition especially the face which is normally found chipped. A few paint nicks and some wear to base. Guaranteed all original paint.

Thanks!! It's tough to find a decent version of this Dutch Boy doorstop. I think this one is in much better condition.
